About

More than three decades of clinical and academic experience in neurosurgery, stereotactic neurosurgery, and radiosurgery.

Professional journey

I was born in Seydişehir, Konya, in 1967. After graduating from Konya Anatolian High School, I entered the Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1985 and graduated from its Faculty of Military Medicine in 1991 as a medical lieutenant.

After serving for two years as chief physician of the infirmary at the 54th Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Edirne, I returned to Gülhane in 1994 for neurosurgery residency training. I completed my specialist training in 1999 with a thesis on radiosurgery for brain metastases.

I subsequently served as chief of neurosurgery at İzmir Mevkii Military Hospital and joined the academic staff at Gülhane as an assistant professor in November 2001. From 2003 to 2005, I completed fellowship training in stereotactic neurosurgery and radiosurgery at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery with Dr. Lunsford and Dr. Kondziolka.

After returning to GATA, I became an associate professor in 2006 and a professor in 2012. From 2013 to 2026, I practiced at Medicana International Ankara Hospital, performing open surgery as well as CyberKnife radiosurgery for many patients. I currently see patients at my private practice in Ankara.
